REDARC BSEN500 Smart Battery Monitor
Product Overview
The REDARC BSEN500 is a compact, high-accuracy smart battery monitor that gives clear, actionable information about your auxiliary battery. It reports real-time State of Charge (SoC), charge/discharge current, system voltage and battery temperature - exactly what you need to understand how loads and chargers affect available runtime and battery health.
Built around a precision ±500A shunt, the BSEN500 suits modern 12V and 24V touring setups with fridges, inverters, DC-DC chargers and solar. Run it standalone with Bluetooth® to the RedVision® App for live data and history, or connect via R-Bus so the same figures appear on compatible REDARC in-vehicle displays for a unified dashboard.
In practice, that means you can verify solar harvest, confirm DC-DC output, spot parasitic draws, and see the real impact of high-current devices like inverters or air compressors. Accurate SoC tracking helps plan charge windows and decide when to start the vehicle, add solar or reduce consumption -especially valuable off-grid.
Installation is straightforward: mount the shunt in a protected location close to the auxiliary battery, connect it on the negative side, and route all loads/chargers through the “load” side so current is measured correctly. Robust M10 studs provide secure terminations, and the supplied battery sense lead (for precise voltage) plus the RJ45 R-Bus cable keep wiring tidy.
Initial setup in the app takes minutes - select battery chemistry, enter capacity and let the monitor learn usage patterns. From there, you can view live figures and recent history at a glance, making it easier to troubleshoot voltage drop, validate cable and fuse choices, and optimise charging sources for longer time off-grid.
For touring 4x4s, caravans, camper trailers and vans, the BSEN500 delivers the essentials without clutter - reliable data that supports better decisions and fewer surprises. Archer Batteries can supply and professionally install the BSEN500 as part of a clean, warrantable dual-battery or canopy power system.

It measures real-time battery State of Charge (SoC), charge/discharge current, system voltage and battery temperature, giving you a clear view of how loads and chargers affect available runtime.
Yes. It can operate standalone and send data to the RedVision® App via Bluetooth®. You can also integrate it with compatible REDARC R-Bus systems to view the same data on in-vehicle displays.
Yes. The BSEN500 suits common 12V and 24V systems and can be configured for popular chemistries such as AGM, Gel, Calcium, standard lead-acid and LiFePO₄.
Mount the shunt near the auxiliary battery on the negative side. All charging sources and loads must pass through the “load” side of the shunt. Avoid engine bay heat and mount in a protected, ventilated area.
The unit includes a battery sense lead for precise voltage measurement and an RJ45 R-Bus cable for system integration. The shunt uses robust stud terminals for secure, low-resistance connections.
Open the RedVision® App, pair via Bluetooth®, select your battery chemistry, enter the battery’s usable capacity, and complete the guided steps. The monitor will then track usage and refine SoC accuracy over time.
Yes. Live current and voltage data make it easier to spot unexpected draws, confirm charger output and identify excessive voltage drop that may point to undersized cables or poor connections.
It’s a monitoring device, not a charger. It doesn’t change charging profiles, but it provides the accurate data you need to verify and optimise the performance of your DC-DC, solar and mains chargers.
Yes. We can supply and professionally install the BSEN500 as part of a clean, warrantable dual-battery or canopy power system, including correct shunt placement, tidy cable routing and app setup.
Periodically check and retighten electrical terminations if needed, keep connections clean and dry, and ensure all new loads/chargers are routed through the shunt. If battery capacity changes, update the value in the app.
